Status: This is a placeholder document so we can test tagging, navigation, and layout in The Registry. It does not represent an official specification.
The term ACP appears in The Registry’s meta copy as one of the major protocols we expect to track in the agentic commerce ecosystem.
At this stage, The Registry is not defining ACP. Instead, ACP is treated as a placeholder label for a transactional layer protocol that would sit alongside catalog/knowledge and post-transaction protocols in an agentic stack.
As implementations and formal specifications emerge from platform vendors, standards bodies, or alliances, this page will evolve into a neutral “protocol snapshot” that covers:
- What ACP actually is (based on its authors, not our assumptions)
- Where it is used and implemented
- How it interacts with other pieces of the agentic commerce stack
- How The Registry measures interoperability and readiness around it
For now, this page exists purely so that:
- The
standards-and-protocolstag has content, - Navigation and Array theme layouts can be exercised,
- And we have a clear, honest placeholder to replace once ACP is officially documented.
If you are actively working on a protocol called ACP in the agentic commerce space and would like it represented accurately here, please contact info@agenticcommerce.com.
